Cube Zero being a prequel to Cube which involves a group of people placed in a cube filled with rooms that many are booby trapped with. This involves the technicians point of view which makes it more interesting as to what this cube was made for. This gives a little more depth on the cube itself without just explaining.
This film stayed true to Cubes look and feel with a slight difference on design. I really liked how they made the traps different and not solely make similar traps from it's sequels.
Also to point out the sheer control of the "higher ups" that place the prisoners in the cube even almost giving specific memory to them which makes this situation even more interesting on what this basis is purely from.
The end certainly a nod to the first film and showing the kind of power of an entity can really do with unlimited resources.
