Endearing but predictable
5 December 2020
Although the plot of the movie is rather predictable the acting of Stewart and Sullavan still holds up. The movie drags a little at some points but in general it keeps a rather decent pace. Some events are a pleasent suprise in the story but they feel a little misplaced. Stewart brings, as always, a certain amount of joy, believability and sensitivity to his character. Sullavan is well casts and performs quite well however in some scenes she lacks a powerfull attitude behind her words. Although a small role, the character development of Pepi, well played by William Tracy, gives a refreshing dimension to the movie.

Some would call this a Christmas movie but I would say that it just so happends to take place around the holidays. Overall a fun and heartwarming but rather typical movie that doesn't surprise very much.
