Some things remained the same, some things changed/improved.
The same: A family friendly dungeon-crawler style game where you can use previous figures or new ones. Familiar control scheme. Voices, animations, overall consistency is similar to the first. Multiple chapters at about a half hour to an hour a piece. Some area seem to be a little difficult to figure out and had to web look-up a few stuck points.
Changed/Improved: Story progression, delving deeper into Skylanders lore and environment. More 'on-rails' shooter scenes where your piloting ships, robots, and such. Overall difficulty level seemed scaled back a bit, which I appreciated. Giants skylanders can be used to open special areas on the map or are alternatives to using previous methods. Skystones mini-game is fun. My personal favourite is the boss Drill-X has a robot rap when fighting him.
A ton of fun, excellent balance between familiarity with Spyro's Adventure and introducing new changes. Looking forward to starting Swap Force!
