The Kovak Box (2006)
7/10
An okay watch
30 January 2021
Kovak Box is reminiscent of The Da Vinci Code movies, and an okay watch. The movie is set and filmed in Spain from April to June of 2005, a month before The Da Vinci Code was. But Kovak Box was released in July of 2006, two months after Da Vinci Code. I found Kovak Box to be more like the 2nd of the Da Vinci movies, Angels and Demons, released in 2009. I was going to give Kovak Box a 6, but I suppose it is somewhat thought provoking. However, a good deal of the thinking is how does this make any sense? I guess it kind of does. But still, the overall idea as illustrated with the mouse in a maze is sort of lost by the wayside and the ultimate in mind control is all that's focused on. The girl is pretty good and the Timothy Hutton is alright too, Hankishly portraying author David Norton.
