CRUMPET! A VERY BRITISH SEX SYMBOL was originally shown on BBC2 one evening back in 2005. In it, Burnley-born TV and radio presenter Tony Livesey looks back at the treatment of the British sex symbol in TV and cinema from the 1950s through to the 1980s. As expected, it's very much an interview compilation, featuring a number of our country's most famous actresses showing up to reminisce about their times working in cinema: Shirley Eaton, Honor Blackman, Maddie Smith, Valerie Leon and Ingrid Pitt all feature. There's a little discussion about sexism and feminism with Germaine Greer brought in to the show the other side, but this is very much a celebration of the glamorous girls of yesteryear and their treatment on screen.
