This film really brings out everything wrong or possibly wrong with a King Arthur movie beautifully. Everything aspect that could be hokey, is. And neither does it have any shortage of uninspiring action sequences and horrible dialogue. Because at its core it's just a poorly made film. The only thing it really has going for it is Sean Connery and despite that this role may have been written for a younger actor, he's still a good choice to play King Arthur. But with so much stacked against Connery's presence isn't enough to turn this film around.
Anyone familiar with the King Arthur lore will know that it's not a bad concept for a film, yet the countless adaptations have been unable to make anything decent. I'm still waiting for the good Camelot movie because First Knight certainly isn't.
