The Beyond (1981)
4/10
The gate to hell is a hole in the wall

Warning: Spoilers
This movie might appealing to some probably due it's mastery of fee technical aspects but oh boy it falls flat in everything else.

The premise of the story sounds interesting but the actual plot looks like a compilation of gruesome death scenes of characters you see for the first time or you don't know how they are connected to the main plot of the movie.

The soundtrack is confusing to say the least, playing an uplifting happy music during a guresome death scene doesn't make any sense.

The acting is not bad most of the time but the dialogue sounds like it was dubbed maybe because of the accent of some actors which kinda makes less immersed especially when the acting doesn't really match the dialogue intensity.

The movie also suffers from character positioning problem, for instance, the living dead keep teleporting between locations all the time which make you wonder how they ended up here or there and when.

In summary, if you are a Lucio's fan have at it and enjoy whatever you think he is doing well, everybody else don't waste your time.
