Teachers (2001–2004)
9/10
Funny, great characters, but incredibly dated.

Warning: Spoilers
I recently watched all 4 series on Netflix and loved it.

The characters are well written and there are lots of visual gags through the show.

A couple of issues that I have are with how they write characters out of the show. Jenny and Susan simply disappear after Series 2 with no mention at all. Matt, Brian and Kurt are killed off off-screen before series 4 starts, with a throwaway scene explaining they were all killed in a car crash. They were never mentioned again and the repercussions of three of the friendship group being killed was never addressed.

Secondly, very outdated treatment of certain issues, especially homosexuality. The bromance between Kurt and Brian is cute but the episode where they convince Brian he is gay is badly handled, even in the 4th series, a a story about a gay student was written so poorly. Was this how we depicted gays on TV just 20 years ago?

The final series is a real drop in quality, jumping the shark, storyline wise, and changing the feel of the show for the worst. I can see why there was no series 5.
