2050 (II) (2018)
8/10
Raises many issues.

From the off. I don't have any connection to this film whatsoever. I don't know any of the actors, crew, director, nobody.

This is a great film. There I've said it. It's never going to make your top ten greatest films, granted. Everything is a B to B+. What makes this a good film is that it's provocative. Everyday we are getting closer and closer to the singularity where machines will be smarter than people. This film delves deeply into that question. I don't want to give any spoilers. Although it's a film that use sex bots as it's way into the singularity world, it's not a sex film. Dean Cain is not buff and sexy. He's not meant to be. I'd like to give an analogy for the part he plays but that would be a spoiler. He's good and plays his part really well. Isn't that better then being buff and false?

The films about humans interacting with machines, machines interacting with humans, humans interacting with humans and humans questioning themselves. Every question that the film brings up is just the top layer of a far bigger issue. Substitute the machines for other humans and many of the questions still remain.

Ignore the crass reviews. This film is for thinkers. No car crashes. No leaping from fifty story blazing buildings. Just a good well crafted and acted film.

If you like to come away from a film that raises more questions than it answers, this is one.
