Didn't think much when I first started watching.
Seasons 1-3 are no where near on par with the walking dead, it's too fast paced which means there is very little character development. The walking dead may have been slow in parts but it was necessary to make you actually care about the characters.
It seems the makers of the show may have realised this too, as when Morgan enters the show at the beginning of season 4, nearly all the original characters from seasons 1-3 have been killed off and are replaced with people that are likeable.
The show slows down more too and focuses on the individuals stories rather than filling each episode with over excessive explosions, gun fire and ridiculous storylines.
Season 4 onwards gets back to the original formula and it pays off.
