Better Than Average Western - The Kentuckian
3 January 2022
Give Burt Lancaster credit; he was not afraid to direct himself in a film, and he was also not afraid to poke fun at his character, a charming, but naive Kentuckian, who comes into contact with a young whippersnapper named Walter Matthau. The famous Hatfield and McCoys feud is featured under another name, but we know who they are talking about. Very few actors could have played this role and done the dramatic ending scene except for Lancaster. A very entertaining oater.
