Where are the GOOD sitcoms??
7 January 2022
Chuck Lorre has single-handedly killed the "sitcom" as a genre.

There's no humor here. Sure there's an overlaid laugh track to make an audience THINK they were supposed to find humor, but that doesn't mean there actually IS any humor.

The writing is so bad they've had to double the length of the opening with a rather lame (due to theme, not Ashford's voice) song and dance routine. Then, on top of that, they now also throw in yet ANOTHER song and dance routine immediately before the song and dance opening?? This is simply a marker for a poorly written and edited show.. they are filling time rather than writing better stories.

Sitcoms are NOT supposed to have full 1-2 minute "previously on.." openings... they aren't supposed to center around death and renal failure... or death at a retirement home...

Sitcoms.. i.e. Situation COMEDIES... are supposed to show odd situations which are funny. They are supposed to have 20-30 minute single story arcs, then character arcs which can last for several seasons as secondary, running, gags.... They are supposed to be singular in nature and not require viewers to tune in to every episode to understand the plot of a single episode.... Laverne & Shirley, 2 and a Half Men, Night Court, Scrubs, You're the Worst, etc. ---- Like I've posted Chuck Lore is killing this genre. All his "sitcoms" go directly against all of this....

It's simply too bad Chuck Lorre seems to be responsible for practically every "sitcom" being made for network TV today. One thing is certain, if you actually want HUMOR you need to avoid ABC/NBC/CBS .
