Review of Yellow

Tales from the Crypt: Yellow (1991)
Season 3, Episode 14
6/10
A great episode is simply beyond Tales From the Crypt
14 January 2022
With a good script, a great lead, and twice the usual run time, they simply didn't know what to do, inexplicably adding Dan Akroyd in a key role, using unnecessary duplicate shots to make sure the dumbest audience members 'get it,' slow motion death scenes that detract from the plot, and an absurd explosion sending a body half the length of a football field to land on the main character and speak some last words to ensure you understand the lead is a coward. This is all repeated back in the trenches because there's no faith the audience will understand even the most starkly presented events.

In the hands of a good director and producer this could have been a superb episode in any anthology series. Here's it's merely one of the best Tales From the Crypt only because its average episode is so awful.
