It's hardly anything groundbreaking, memorable, or truly funny- Daddy Day Care is an enterianing little kid's flick with a few good jokes- but hardly worth more than a single watch. This type of film really seemed to be a pattern for many comedy stars of the early 2000's and you can feel the mediocrity shoot through this films veins. There isn't anything quite original or new about Daddy Day Care- its just a fun film for kids with a somewhat absurd premise starring Eddie Murphy. Murphy tries his best to work through the subpar script with his comedic chops, along with fellow comedy stars Steve Zahn and Jeff Garlin. The acting is quite over the top and phoned in at times, but the film itself does have a bit of charm to it thanks to the kids at hand- even if it's obvious the kids can't act. The cinematography is basic, some jokes have not aged well, and it has that cliche that all these films seem to have where everything goes wrong all for it to go miraculously right again. In the end, it's not anything worth watching, but it does make for an entertaining ride. Its Murphy in a kids flick, and that's about all there is to say.

My Rating: 5/10.
