Can Dare Rudd prove he is responsible enough to win the heart of Judy and also outwit the crooked saloon owner? To find out you have to watch this better than average John Wayne western, which also co-stars fellow b-western supremo Johnny Mack Brown. It amazes how an enjoyable concoction of stampede, romance, a strong narrative and poker playing can fit in 55 minutes running time and not looked rushed. All the cast does well, but Wayne is standout as a drifting cowboy with wild oats. It's here where his trademark swagger and drawling talk begins to show.
