A well-to-do husband who allows his wife to have affairs to avoid a divorce becomes a prime suspect in the disappearance of her lover.

On the surface, Dark Water is an erotic thriller that plays itself far too seriously. But once the story begins to unfold, it becomes more convoluted and unbelievable as the film unfolds. Unfortunately, two admirable performances from Affleck and De Armas don't stop the film from giving in to cliches of the genre, ultimately resulting in an overall lacklustre film with an unsatisfactory pay-off once it reaches the climax.
