Like many of Kings modern adaptations, this one recycles a lot of ideas from previous books. That's not necessarily a bad thing, his ideas are usually pretty good and if you've never seen a King adaptation before, it will be new to you. But if you've seen or read The Mist
or The Stand or Dreamcatcher or Salem's Lot, a lot of the themes will seem familiar. Still there's plenty to like.
