It's being generous to say this wasn't a terrible show , because there are a lot of things that made it terrible . First
I'll mention the good points because it won't take that long .
Bought the series because several episodes were etched into my memory , one With Superman , one with Wonder Woman and one with the Lone Ranger , those episodes are ok ...Marlin the Minor Bird ( voiced by Larry Storch ) was a good idea. Everything else was bad ...they had too many cuddly animals ...the other stories aren't so good , neither is the music . They did a much better job with their Gilligan's Island , Star Trek and My Favorite Martian's Cartoon. Infact , My Favorite Martian's is as good an animated sitcom as Jonny Quest was an adventure show. They did far better with the music on their Everythings Archie Show . Hanna Barbera's Partridge Family AD cartoon blows this out of the water .. All that being said , How would I fix it? Scrap the animals Except for Marlin . Give Chuck (their rival ) a better voice and a dog to be Marlin's antagonist.
Make the stories a little bit more like Mission Magic ....and make the songs and show less Saccarine... The live action show was too sugary sweet as it was ...More fantasy , more magic , more adventure.and.a much less.case of the cutes ....Fleetwood wasn't s bad character .But a it was it was pretty bad. The.opening theme was Bad too..You could have had the Live action kids go through a magic mirror into an animated world where all things were possible , like meeting other superheroes or more time travel where they meet historical figures ..... Lost opportunity.... As it was it was a bad show.
