Warning: Spoilers
This won't win any awards but it's certainly not as bad as the current 4.5 IMDb rating viewers have given it at the time I write this. Personally, I think that's 'unwarranted'. Probably the worst you can say about it is that the story line is fairly predictable and the characters are formulaic. There's a twist with the female gang member riding with Virgil 'The Saint' Denis (Casper Van Dien) which caught both me and John Breaker (Neal McDonough) by surprise, and suddenly changes the odds against the vigilante Union soldier. The themes of 'reckoning' and 'redemption' play throughout the picture, and if you've seen enough of these recent Westerns, it's easy enough to see where it's headed. Even so, it's a passable hour and a half for Western fans with a good helping of Civil War flashbacks that set up the story. The Confederate faction led by Blackjack (Brian F. Durkin) seems like a diversion at times, but plays well into the finale when the Breakers get their man. Give it a chance, you might be surprised.
