Brett Halsey 's career essentially took part in Europa (in Italy ,Germany ,even in France) where he was relegated to B movies .
Both heroes are cardboard :Halsey left an alcoholic old man whereas his companion is a spoilt rich kid ,a lawyer's son,soon to return to papa when he has proven he's a man ;but the latter is a sissy ,and "will become a man " in the last sequences. The relationship between the two pals is perhaps the only passable thing in a rather dismal work ; Halsey plays the part of a big brother in his shy buddy 's life .
All that concerns the murder is downright ludicrous ; the villain has such an ugly face the viewer knows what he's up to as soon as he appears ; the scene of the rape/murder is one of the worst directed in cinema ;one can also wonder why the heroine screams when she's almost dead whereas she did not when she was attacked ! To make sure Halsey was considered the main suspect,probably : it seems that the victim's daddy ,who leads the beating ,did not care that much about his daughter when she was alive .
Besides,this girl is mindless:why did she stay in the wood after Halsey had left her, whereas she knew that ,because of her repugnant suitor, she was in jeopardy?
