The Immortal Story (1968 TV Movie)

A rich old merchant wants to bring to life a story he's heard about a rich old merchant who pays a sailor to sleep with his wife so he finds a sailor and a woman to pose as his wife and get paying.

This is very otherworldly in the way it's shot and lit and manages to float by in its short run time. The only challenges are the, occasionally poor ADR work that doesn't always match up (or is performed by Welles himself, like a lot of his low budget works) and the dropping of the narration halfway through. But neither of those get in the way really of a literate work with lots going on. It might be slow for some, but is totally worth finding and seeing.
