I'm a goofy goober

Warning: Spoilers
Spongebob set the bar high with his first film and I have to say he doesn't disappoint.

The animation had made a mega leap forward. I like that the movie actually focuses on the story and that it's not a lengthy episode, it's really a real movie with a plot structure as opposed to the series, which is really what this is about.

It's just a good children's series for in between, but it's a movie and I think it's great that Spongebob actually leaves his comfort zone, that Bikini Bottom is leaving and that he. Even rises to the surface. And in fact almost everyone has characters to do something with.

The only downside is that the film relies far too much on comedy at times and there are a lot of montages where the characters just make crazy faces. But on the other hand, I have to say that I like the message and don't find it interesting that Spongebob is really confronted with his flaws, which is that he's just super childish.

And I find it interesting that his weakness is turned into a strength here, so that he has achieved his goal despite having children, but only at the end when it counts. To be a man. Or deal with it. Dealing with the fact that he lost his childhood made his day. It's a bit out of hand, it's kind of a deus ex machina, but the number is so brilliant and such a great rock number. I love it.
