17 October 2022
An entertaining and attractive comedy without borders in which two desperate men turn in an uncomfortable business partners to find a secret loot by looking for gold bars from WWII and supposedly hidden in the Gibraltar tunnels . León Lafuente (Dani Rovira) is a taxi driver from Madrid who is not going through his best moment . The economic crisis that he is experiencing makes him always upset, in a bad mood . One day, he gets into his car Diego Manfredi (Joaquín Furriel), an Argentine trickster who has just been released from prison. When he is rejected by his partner, Diego agrees with León to go to Gibraltar and there, in the tunnels of World War II, find the gold in a location that was revealed to him by a fellow prisoner named Manchester United (José Manuel Poga) who tells there's a valuable treasure . This gold is located in Foxgrove Road in the Gibraltar tunnels. So that they undertake an infernal travel about 660 Km from Madrid to Gibraltar, discovering that Diego is a loudmouth unable to be shut up. Along the way , they meet Sandra (Ingrid García Jonsson) , a newly escaped bride who get in trouble.

Road comedy with the keys of a chance encounter and a criminal pact to change their bad luck in the union of three very different characters who try to overcome their fateful lives and start a new wealthy existence . This fun story focuses on the trio of unfortunate youngsters , forcing them to make a radical change on their lives , as tired of their bored and hapless circumstances , they carry out a risked voyage throughout . There is adventure and mis-adventure as they encounter an assortment of different characters on the road and some set pieces imitating spaghetti western . The film tries to create a crazy and twisted plot , taking extreme in more or less 24 hours the psychological particularities of its characters , such as a grumpy misanthropist : Dani Rovira , a verbose swindler-ex convict Joaquin Furriel and a runaway bride : Ingrid García Jonsson from the town with a desire to see the world. Although there is chemistry between its protagonists, most of the dialogues and situations lack laughs and adding an enjoyable but predictable final . In this well worth seeing picture there is nostalgic friendship , humor , brief drama , action , thrills and riveting landscapes . Trio protagonists Dani Rovira, Joaquín Furriel, Ingrid García Jonsson are frankly good , giving likable acting . The sentimental clichés around personal crises , and a very comfortable resolution, as unlikely in its form as it is ordinary in its background, do not help to elevate the story of its low humorous effectiveness either.

It displays evocative cinematography by cameraman Gris Jordana is nice , like is well reflected on the colorful and breathtaking scenarios .As well as lively and catching musical score by Aránzazu Calleja . The motion picture was uneven but professionally directed by Alejo Flah . He has written some films such , as : El padre de mis hijos , La adopción, Sexo fácil, películas tristes , Séptimo , Cristales , Tita Cervera, La baronesa (TV Series) . A directing a few movies , such as : Días mejores (TV Series) , Sexo fácil, películas tristes , Vivir de negro (Short) , Taxi (Short) and this Taxi a Gibraltar. Rating : 5.5/10 .
