The Royal Nanny (2022 TV Movie)
4/10
Not my cup of tea

Warning: Spoilers
There's been a credible threat against the crown so Claire has been assigned to go undercover as a nanny to take care of Ellen and Robert who are the children of the future Queen. In the process, she meets Prince Colin, their uncle.

We all know royal movies are not Hallmark's forte. And they still continue to prove why. I don't hate them, I might enjoy one but they are ridiculous. This is no exception. Look, if you close an eye and don't focus on the details you might enjoy this.

The first scene was ridiculous enough. Not only it is about royalty but there is spionage and intelligence work involved? I still decided to go on with this. But the ridiculousness continued: fake accents, ONE person assigned not only to the children but to an adult as well? Does MI5 need more agents? No royal protocol in sight. 4 years to become a nanny? The future monarch does not know the head of the security program? A member of the royalty kidnapped? I swear I could go on.

The leads were okay considering the script they were given. In my opinion, there weren't enough scenes for the characters to develop a romantic relationship. The chemistry was okay.

I know I always encourage Hallmark to deliver different stories and to be more diverse and I applaud that effort but... I could barely watch this.
