Chicago Cab (1997)
8/10
Nice vignettes-driven movie, and there certainly aren't any like this one!

I discovered CHICAGO CAB casually because of the cast full of many actors and actresses I love and since it's one of those movies that has been talked about often these days, I knew I had to see it, and finally did last April.

The movie follows a nameless cab driver on one single day before Christmas, when more than 30 people go on his taxy and when each person enters the taxy we have a closeup on their personal lives. Among the many guest stars Michael Ironside as a football fanatic that goes along with his buddy Ron Dean, Julianne Moore as a distraught woman, John Reilly as a business executive, John Cusack as a scary man obsessed with the next robbery, Gillian Anderson as a South side girl, Michael Shannon as a crack addict.

That's it. While the concept may look simple, it still works because the many guest stars give nice performances even tho they play mostly cameos. Some of the moments (like the ones with Cusack or with Ironside and his buddy) were even funny, and the cab driver is always seen as a nice and emphatic guy that doesn't let his anger go over his head.

If you love unique movies, try this one because I don't think there are others like this one. Nothing exceptional but adequate and recommended during this period of the approaching Christmas holidays.
