Evil Woman
9 January 2023
In Paris, Jean Reynaud (Jean Louis Trintignant) is a wealthy engineer that owns a factory and is in a loveless marriage with Danielle Reynaud (Erika Blanc). He is a wolf, having a love affair with Helene Valmont (Helga Liné), who is the wife of his friend, Eng. Valmont (Giovanni Di Benedetto). When Jean sees Nicole Perrier (Carroll Baker), who has just rented the penthouse of his apartment building, he puts his eyes one her. Soon Nicole becomes his mistress, and Jean learns that Nicole is abused by her boyfriend Klaus (Horst Frank). They travel on vacation to forget Klaus, but out of the blue he appears, and they decide to return to Paris. During the night, Klaus breaks in Nicole's apartment, Jean arrives and is stabbed by Klaus. What will happen next?

"Così dolce... così perversa" (1969), a.k.a. "So Sweet... So Perverse", is a thriller directed by Umberto Lenzi with a plot with many twists. The plot recalls "Les Diaboliques" in some moments. Carroll Baker performs an evil woman and mastermind of an apparent perfect murder. However, the plot has flaws, like for example, why there is no autopsy of the burnt corpse of Jean Reynaud? I believe the autopsy would indicate that he was stabbed. No further investigation of Danielle's suicide, despite the suspicion of the Police Commissioner. My vote is six.

Title (Brazil): "Tão Doce Quanto Perversa" ("As Sweet as Perverse")
