Warning: Spoilers
"TVB Five Tigers", Andy Lau Tak-Wah, Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, Michael Miu Kiu-Wai, Felix Wong Yat-Wa and Kent Tong Chun-Yip, who were born in TVB training class, once co-starred in "The Tigers" (1991), and then they parted ways. Felix Wong continued his TV career from Hong Kong to Mainland China; Michael Miu and Kent Tong became a businessman, and later became an actor again. As for Andy Lau's unremitting efforts to continue his acting career, from singer and actor to film company owner and producer, he's the most influential of the five. His diligence and struggle are known and admired by everyone inside and outside the industry. As for Tony Leung, he has become an internationally renowned actor, has won numerous awards, and is also recognized as one of the best actors in acting. "Brothers" was Andy Lau's intention to make the five tigers cooperate again, but Tony Leung's resignation turned the five tigers into four tigers and replaced them with Eason Chan Yick-Shun, which once again made Andy Lau and Tony Leung's rift rumors sounded.

Derek Chiu Sung-Kee, the director of "Brothers", directed a film "Love Trilogy" in 2004 after "Frugal Game" in 2002. Following "Brothers", which was invested and supervised by Andy Lau, the film was full of the taste of "Andy Lau's film". Derek Chiu has his delicate aspects in character description, but this time, because he has to take care of five male actors, plus leading actress Huang Yi and Wang Zhiwen, etc., the film loses its focus. In describing the relationship between Michael Miu and Eason Chan, as well as Eason Chan's character, both unconvincing and disappointing. And Felix Wong, Kent Tong and Lam Ka-Tung have all become big supporting roles and have limited space to play.

The center of the film goes to the eldest brother played by Michael Miu. Unfortunately, his performance is not outstanding, which makes the film unremarkable and lackluster. Or this kind of gangster film is not Derek Chiu's strength. One of the scenes designed by Michael Miu leads Eason Chan to Thailand to assassinate Kent Tong. The whole chase and shooting scenes lack the explosive power it should have.
