Like in the great movie Rocky, what made it so wonderful was the relationship between Rocky and Adrian. What makes the TV show Coach so wonderful is the relationship Coach Hayden Fox has with Christine Armstrong. The chemistry between Craig T Nelson and Shelley Fabares was off the charts brilliant! With their acting skill sets and the superb writing of the shows proved to be a delicious recipe for success, many laughs and a lot of great tears shed. Sure it is a football themed show on the surface but the shows staying power is the relationship and deep bond of love they have for each other. Add in The greats Jerry Van Dyke and Bill Fagerbakke as the football assistant coaches and best friends and you have a show that will live beautifully forever. As a guy in my early 50s now I watched and really liked it then in the 1990s to today... joyfully binge watching the complete series now on dvd, I grew to love this masterpiece. Craig T Nelson is a rock star in this as when he speaks its great, but the look and expression on his face without speaking is even better! A must watch for all!
