This episode complicates the mystery of Henry Deaver's (André Holland) childhood disappearance and the subsequent death of his pastor father. It draws Molly Strand (Melanie Lynskey) further into the mystery as well, her apparent ability to see and hear things manages to eavesdrop on Henry's conversation with Josef Desjardins (David Selby) when the man shows Henry his own discarded police file from 1991. I thought the episode made it kind of ambiguous as to Josef's real identity; he claimed to be Vince Desjardin's brother who fled Castle Rock years ago after being questioned about young Henry's disappearance. Yet his conversation with Henry seemed to suggest that Josef was actually Vince, so future chapters may help clarify. Molly's invitation for Henry to stay the night seemed out of character for both, but any relationship apparently would be cut short with Henry's decision to return to Texas. The surprise ending to this program saw Dennis Zalewsky (Noel Fisher) going berserk following Henry's message about canceling a court hearing and accepting Shawshank's offer to release The Kid (Bill Skarsgård). The KId's influence is felt once more with the murder of all those prison guards before Zalewski gets taken out to put and end to his rampage.
