This episode provides a bit of a breather from the prior intense shows, with the principal characters mainly fighting off the zombie-like citizens of Castle Rock under the spell of Ace Merrill/Augustin (Paul Sparks). Annie (Lizzy Caplan) stabbing the eyes of Jamal (Isayas Theodros) with a hypodermic needle might have been the most gruesome act of the entire series, very cringe worthy. I thought it was interesting that the character of Chance (Abby Corrigan) wound up in an alliance with Nadia (Yusra Warsama), Abdi (Barkhad Abdiand) and Pop (Tim Robbins); I figured her for a loner except for her attraction to Joy (Elsie Fisher). Hopefully the last episode brings it all together, especially regarding the satanic influence of The Kid (Bill Skarsgård).
