7/10
This does leave you wanting more but is still a fun watch

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - To the Swordsmith Village (2023) is a "movie" my daughter and I watched in theatres tonight. The storyline picks up where Season 1 left off with our slayers having thought they killed the sibling demons and discovering it isn't as easy as they think. We also discover the siblings past and the upcoming villains for season 2.

This picture is directed by Haruo Sotozaki (All 44 episodes of Demon Slayer) and is essentially a marketing campaign to get fans excited for the upcoming next season. We get to see the first three episodes of season 2 and essentially the evolution of the characters and their upcoming villains.

The animation in this series is absolutely outstanding. The action scenes, display of weapons (and the weapons capabilities), the gore, the blood splatter and the decapitations are all a 10/10. The dialogue is hilarious and well written. The villains backstories are fascinating and the new villains are unique and daunting. My daughter was so excited and on the edge of her seat the entire film.

Overall, this does leave you wanting more but is still a fun watch. I would score this a 7/10 and strongly recommend it to fans of the series.
