Decent Historical film, but bad lighting
29 March 2023
This is a good film from a historical perspective and had great visuals (during daytime scenes) that really gave you a feel for the French and Indian War. But too much of the film takes place at night (or in caves) and those scenes must have been lit with a candle and a cheap flashlight.

It's like they were running out of money so they decided to have no lighting at all (which is realistic, but not for a film). This is a film, so light the scene so the audience knows what is going on. I saw the film on Blu-Ray, and it was still impossible to see most of the nighttime scenes. One of the worse is when the heroes first approached the English fort. If it wasn't for occassional cannonfire, then you would see nothing at all.

Good story runied by bad lighting of key scenes.
