CRIME DRAMA
Adapted from the novel by Robert Allison Wade and H. William Miller, of an unknown young woman stopping by at a sleazy hotel to ask for a certain somebody, and by the time she does find him, he is seen lying on his bed, recovering drinking too much, and is in the state of being half asleep. She notifies him that their son had been kidnapped. We find out he used to be a respected and dedicated who used to for law enforcement, and is now an alcoholic. And his name is Max Thursday (Zachary Scott,) and that the young woman who was searching for him was his ex Georgia Thursday (Faye Emerson) attempting to motivate him to get their son back. Things become much more complicated when the last person who saw Max's son was discovered murdered. Despite it's running time of an hour and 30 minutes, moves the story along.
