Everyone knew that Valerie Solanas would do everything to be famous, but no one would expect that she would decide to do this. I Shot Andy Warhol is released in 1996. This biographical drama film is based on true story of Valerie Solanas (Lili Taylor) of how did she become famous and the relationship of her with Andy Warhol (Jared Harris) who was the artist in New York city.

Valerie Solanas was a passionate writer who was a lesbian with a strong mindset of being against male species. Solanas's life was tough as was abused during her childhood and worked as a sex worker in order to pay for her college. After college, she makes a living by asking random people on street like "Pardon me sir, you got 15 cents? Pardon me sir" along with writing the play. However, her life reached to the turning point by Candy Darling. Candy was a drag queen who led Andy Warhol and Valerie to meet at the factor (Andy Warhol's company) and Valerie decided to give Andy her play. After the greeting, Warhol let Valeria to be a start in couples movie that directed by him. After a while, Valeria got a chance to meet publisher who brought huge motivation to Valerie to write about her revolution. At the end, Valerie started to overthinking and become paranoid. Andy Warhol became to have too much impact on Valerie's life. She thought that Andy and the publisher tried to set her up, so she decided to shoot Andy Warhol to make herself famous. After the shooting, Valerie surrendered herself to the police and was sent to a metal hospital. Andy Warhol survived fortunately. The book, SCUM Manifesto was published around the world which is the book that Valerie wrote

The acting of Lili Taylor who took Valerie's role was great as Taylor had changed herself into this character and expressed this character like she really is Valerie Solanas. As this film was based on Valerie Solanas's life, so this movie was on Lili's shoulders. However, other actors were fabulous as well such as Jared Harris was great as Andy and Stephen Dorff who played Candy darling. The diversity of the characters as each character are extremely in their owns way, but have the same passion as to be famous and well known by everyone which creates a very unique vibe to the movie. However, even though each character seems to be very arty and indie which seem to be hard to understand, but after watching the whole movie. The audience will be able to understand why did the character do that or what was the reason behind each action.

In my perspective, the tittle of the movie "I shot Andy Warhol" is very catchy and able to gain viewer's attention as the viewers might think that this movie will show Andy's view point, but Valerie is actually carried on the entire movie. The movie is very artistic and seem to be surreal which very confusing for me at first, but after watching the ending. I am able to get the whole concept the movie. This movie becomes interesting for me as the movie setting and the story are new to me. It is the aspect that I never get to know before like the movie industrial or how was life back in the 1996. Therefore, "I shot Andy Warhol" is an excellent movie for me and I want to recommend it to other people.
