...was this British-German co-production. Betty Blythe stars as Ayesha, She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed, a seemingly immortal queen ruling over a secret, lost civilization in North Africa. She's sought out by young adventurer Leo Vincy (Carlyle Blackwell) and party after discovering writings by his long-deceased father describing his own run-in with Ayesha decades earlier. When Leo and his friends get to their destination, they may wish they'd never left home.

There are some nice sets and costumes to see, but the story is silly and the characters paper-thin. Haggard himself wrote the florid title cards shortly before passing away. Director Leander De Cordova later became an actor in B-movies. The most famous film version of this story is the one from 1935.
