I don't know what happened to Grantchester after season three. Really, with the vicar running amok breaking every commandment under the sun, I couldn't cope with having to watch Grantchester descending into the emotional darkness that Hannibal Lecter would have been proud of.
I know that maybe the writers wanted to make Grantchester edgier and kind of be the anti-Father Brown and anti-Father Dowling, but really, the vicar had really hit the skids big time.
Anyway, definitely watch the first three seasons for the glory days for sure. After that, watch with care, and if it's too much then tune into Father Brown.
