For devotees of Padre Pio from Pietrelcina like me, this movie is an authentic disappointment, since being a movie about the life of the young Padre Pio, this movie only shows the political, economic and social situation that was lived in Italy in the 20s, especially in San Giovanni Rotondo. I too had high expectations for seeing this movie, and those expectations turned into disappointment, but for the worse, thanks to this movie and Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, Shia LaBeouf converted to Catholicism during filming.
Finally, I consider that making this film was an incomprehensible and authentic waste of time and money, and only true devotees of Padre Pio will understand this movie.
