Other's have mentioned it, thankfully. But, this is one of those occasions when I feel the need to pile on. I rarely write reviews on single episodes like this.
But, WTH was up with that climax in the tunnel? Jack's "brilliant" plan suffered from two major flaws:
First - why did he have the convoy slow down? At first I thought it was to lure the nuke truck into catching up with them so they could turn on it in a controlled manner. But, no. All that did was give less time for the two guys in the explosives truck to escape.
Which feeds directly into the second point - How did anybody expect the two guys to run a mile on foot to the end of the tunnel after blocking the passage with their truck? And why would that even been considered where there were two HMMWV's in the convoy that could carry them?
Of course, the reason seams to be so that Jack could do something heroic and put himself in more danger.
He just ends up looking like an idiot, as does everyone else who didn't think to question him. It's little wonder they didn't tell us the plan on screen ahead of time.
