Hypnotic is one of the most interesting thrillers I have watched lately. With a great cast and story, this is an underrated gem. A young girl escapes from a murderer and a policewoman turns to a troubled hypnotherapist. This is a film that builds mood very effectively and manages to bring a sense of dread with the overuse of jump scares and gore. It is never slow, but it does give the story time to unwind without rushing through. Some of the dream sequences are creepy and add an unworldly atmosphere that fits in perfectly with the story. The acting is spot on and the photography manages to convey tension and at times real fear. This is definitely a great watch and I highly recommend it.
