This was probably the safest route they could have taken the finale, which is a bit disappointing. This whole show was truly different from the rest of the MCU. Little to no comedic relief, some legit thrills, bloody violence, and even some okay twists and turns.

And it all led to exactly what one would expect from a Marvel series finale; a CGI-fight, set up for new characters, and a main character donning his new (old) suit (and eye patch).

Honestly though, this was a good show overall. I enjoyed every episode, the acting, the premise and the directing. It's different enough from the other Marvel products, which means the ones who didn't much love it will likely forget about it, and the ones who likes it well enough will remember it as a change of pace regardless of the finale.

I actually didn't mind the secret marriage between Fury and Varra. That at least got a reasonably fulfilling moment. I would have liked a brawl between Fury and Gravik, but Gravik fighting G'iah wasn't so bad I guess. Plus, Fury gets the satisfaction of offing the one pretending to be Rhodes.

Overall, a good show, but maybe one I'll tell people was just "fine", not stellar or one of their better projects. I was fine with this different approach with Nick Fury, I really did like all of the acting and production, and it did legitimately feel like a breath of fresh air, ending aside.

So... good not great.
