Not what I'd expected, but worth seeing.

A spoilt society heiress pinches her father's plane, and flies off to see her young man, a man her father believes to be a gold-digger, she's keen to prove him wrong.

I've been working my way through The Hitchcock films, and finally after laying out £20, I picked up this dvd, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I went in with fairly high hopes, I'm keen to complete The Hitchcock line up of films.

All I can say, is that I'm glad Hitchcock created his own, unique style, this is very much a nursery plant so to speak, it doesn't feel like Hitchcock to me, apart from one aspect, the camera work, which is possibly the film's best element.

There's no denying the quality and presence of leading lady Betty Balfour, I would suggest that her acting, and that of some other cast members is enough to elevate the film.

Worth seeing, even if only to garner a greater appreciation of the masterpieces that Hitchcock would produce for years to come.

6/10.
