A Hal B Wallis production with fashions, engaging cinematography, Una Merkel, interesting interiors, music, top leading men, done in 69 minutes. The Kansas scenes in the church, drug store, rowboat are highlights. In New York Calhern and Manners both get physical with Young, Brent not so much. The most unexpected of the plot twists is after she comes home from a date with Manners very late, her church-going Kansas adoptive parents disclose they are not her birth parents and are done with her. As her birth mother was a musician, her keyboard talent flourishes in NYC. Good cast and well directed, if unambitious and formulaic.
