I recently watched Female Prisoner Scorpion: Grudge Song (1973) on Shudder. The storyline follows Matsu when her wedding is disrupted by the police, forcing her to go on the run. She seeks refuge at a strip club where she falls in love. When the police apprehend Matsu's new boyfriend for questioning, the question arises: can she trust him to keep her secrets?

This movie is directed by Yasuharu Hasebe (The Naked Seven) and stars Meiko Kaji (Lady Snowblood), Yayoi Watanabe (Karate Warriors), Toshiyuki Hosokawa (Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo) and Kotoe Hatsui (Castle in the Sky).

These movies are nothing short of magical. The opening wedding sequence sets the perfect tone for the film, with intensity and over the top drama. Once again, the camera angles, lighting, and settings masterfully create the film's mood. These films perfectly portray the influences and power of relationships. The acting is exceptional, and the action scenes are entertaining, impactful and well executed. The pacing of these films are always perfect.

In conclusion, Female Prisoner Scorpion: Grudge Song is another artistically crafted exploitation film that deserves a viewing. I would rate this a 7-7.5/10 and strongly recommend it.
