If like me you've overdosed on fun festive films, this will add some realism. Despite the same upbringing, the three owners of the Maple farm have different perspectives on how to move forward. This family business tension is heightened by two other families and a romance that are all also struggling to mix business and pleasure. The production doesn't necessarily leave you with the warm and fuzzies, but all the characters' perspectives are relatable to me and having two generations means I'll rewatch for twenty years as I won't grow out of it like the many movies aimed at young adults. Maple Valley doesn't necessarily tick all the usual boxes, but offers reality to those of us in a similar situation.
