Big Momma
17 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Plot Spoilers. Jack Boucher (Aaron Eckhart) is normally pronounced "butcher" because he is a bare-knuckles fighter for cash. He makes money by both winning and throwing fights. Some love him while others don't. We see him left at the doorsteps of St. Joe's as a child. He loves his ailing foster mother very much and her home has been in foreclosure throughout the entire film. Jack takes his winnings and plays red-black on the roulette table and manages to get enough money to pay off Big Momma (Marianne Jean-Baptiste). He loses the money on the way and a Bella Thorne who plays a tattoo carny finds his wad of money. She is looking to find out who her real father is. Have you got the happy "Silas Marner" ending yet?

I will say Aaron went out of his way to play a partially brain-dead drinker/smoker/fighter/gambler. He did it well. The film has flashbacks. I am not sure why. It was one of those films that you knew what was coming and you were bored along the way until the film got there.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
