To be honest

To be honest, I think this show is one of those rare creative works that really shines for the Spring 2017 season!

An original work that combines characters with a middle school theme, romance, and awkward moments that we have all experienced at some point in our lives. I agree that this show is enjoyable to watch and refreshing, as have some others mentioned.

The plot progresses well over time. With so many scenes and action sequences completed in one sitting, it doesn't feel overly hurried. The plot developed at a respectable, steady pace. That being said, there is a noticeable degree of time-lapsing between each episode. Since the character growth happened at a speed that was neither too rapid for viewers to try to understand nor too sluggish for them to get bored, I really like how the characters developed.

The artwork is of high caliber. A couple of the sequences were really wonderfully done. Apart from that, I don't believe it would have a significant impact on my ranking. I thought the character artwork was good, and I thought Akane was cute.

It's the sounds that I found pleasing. Each member of the ensemble aligns with the roles they portray. The sounds that Akane creates are what caught my attention. "Eh?" "Aah!" "Un!" similar to Kumiko sounds. On the other hand, Kotarou sounds like a masculine Akane-"Ah.." "ooh.." "Un." (lol) That did, however, inspire me to work on a film that would honor their respective noises from each episode.

I won't say too much about the characters because doing so might reveal plot points, but they are interesting people that you will either find endearing or laugh out loud at, or perhaps leave wondering, "What? Not at all! Never dare to do that!" It's the usual gamut of feelings and misconceptions you encounter in middle and high school. The producers and staff did, in my opinion, succeed in giving the characters a more intriguing feel as opposed to a lifeless one.

It was a delightful show to watch. I found it intriguing to read the SMS conversations that take place in the emergency department. It seems that there was a forum topic created just for translating the exchanges. In any case, the epilogue's shorts were quite entertaining. A few of which are humorous.
