Vampires Suck (2010)
3/10
dumb, juvenile, and not funny

The point of a spoof movie is that it is supposed to make fun of other movies and make you laugh. Although Vampires Suck sort of succeed on the first, they utterly fail on the second. This is not funny.

In the entire movie there are like 2 or 3 jokes that land, and I think I smiled once or twice. That is it. The only thing that works with this movie is Jenn Proske and her demeanour which is dead-on and exactly like Kirsten Stewart's wooden lack of talent. Jenn is clearly a much better actress than Kristen, and her character is the only one that work in this entire movie. The rest are badly acted, badly written, badly directed, or a combo of all three.

This is not the worst movie ever. In fact this is almost watchable, but since it fails on delivering on the laughs, and since camera work, sound design and a lot of other factors also fail, I think a 3/10 seem very reasonable.

Its a shame really. Making fun of Twilight and similar should be a slam dunk, and as mentioned Jenn is excellent in her role, so this could have easily been a great fun movie. But sadly another failure in a long line of failed spoof movies. Aren't people in Hollywood funny anymore?
