In the tradition of Cinderella Man 2005, a rock solid sports drama that barely misses a beat. Joel Edgerton gives his best performance since Warrior 2011 and newcomer Callum Turner holds the show together, looking like a young Richard Gere in the process. Fact is, streaming media and wokeness have flooded the market with quantity not quality and BOYS IN THE BOAT shines. Clooney does a fine job as director.
