From the very first shot, I started to think this film was going to be different. Once we're introduced to Wynne a few minutes later, it definitely started to move me away from the typical jump scare film I thought I was in for. I don't want to give anything away, but this film really stuck with me afterward. Emotionally it resonated with my own struggles and things that I imagine a lot of us face. Namely, fear of the future. The characters and writing in this film are wonderful. They really created an interesting world. The phone is actually a much smaller part of the film than I thought it would be. But it does play an important role for sure. The whole mood of the film is a cool mix of somber and hopeful. There's truly a warmth to this film, it's really hard to describe. Bottom line: If you're looking for something different in a horror film or in films in general, I would definitely check this out!
