The episode starts with Maya telling Jack she doesn't want him to be calling her pet names or to treat her any different than other staff. He then takes that to heart too much for her liking when he bypasses her entirely and gives tickets for a London Stage production and travel on a private Lear Jet to Elliott and Nina. The borrowing of the plot of King Lear and incorporating it into the blush staff lives was maybe not inspired but really holds up. With Jack as King Lear and Elliot and Nina as his bickering daughters, the parody works as the "daughters" fight for the affection of the King. There are even a couple of quotes from King Lear in the story. My favorite: "You attended to their sugared words, but looked not on the poison of their hearts." The final scene in the show includes the final scene from The King Lear play done in truly dramatic fashion but of course ends with a good just shoot me! Laugh.
